FED: Motoring group calls for highway upgrades in three states

SYDNEY, Feb 24 AAP - It is incomprehensible that Australia's three largest cities are
not linked by high-standard dual carriageways, which could prevent four in five crashes,
the country's peak motoring group said today.

The NRMA is seeking a commitment from all political parties that Sydney, Melbourne
and Brisbane will be connected within 10 years by highways of a minimum of four lanes.

The upgrade would be delivered in NSW from the Queensland border to the Victorian border
