Former 800 indoors world champ out of Comm. Games

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Tamsyn Lewis, the 2008 world indoor 800-meter champion, has withdrawn from the Australian team for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Lewis, a multiple Commonwealth Games gold medalist, said Thursday that she hadn't recovered from a long-term knee injury and didn't have the fitness to compete in the Oct. 3-14 event.
