149TH FAIR READY FOR CROWDS.(Local)

Visitors to this year's edition of the Saratoga County Fair will find enhanced facilities, a change in parking regulations and an expanded list of attractions that offer "something for everyone," promoters said Friday.

The 149th fair, one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the United States, begins Tuesday, July 24, and continues through Sunday, July 29, at the hilltop fairgrounds in Ballston Spa.

Coming attractions, which range from rooster-crowing contests to demolition derbies, amusement rides and talent shows, were outlined at a press conference attended by about 50 area business, civic and political leaders at …

Daredevil children and teenagers zooming and cartwheeling at the city's skateboarding arena more than doubled in number last year, according to the city's recreation director.

In her annual report, Linda Terricola told the City Council on Monday that the city Recreation Commission hopes to build an indoor skateboarding facility; that its summer clinics were either self-sustaining or profitable; and that a teen program at the local YMCA may be expanded with state help.
